If you are picking up your Star RV in Queenstown, New Zealand, you have the perfect starting point for your South Island road trip, known for its plethora of wineries, stunning fairways and awe-inspiring natural landscapes. 

As a gateway for your South Island road trip, you might choose to explore the fjords of the west coast and soak up the breathtaking beauty of Fiordland National Park. 

Or perhaps a visit to the renowned Milford Sound is calling to you. Be drawn in by the rugged beauty of the Southern Alps or enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Wanaka, only an hour's drive away.

Hire a motorhome in Queenstown for the best way to explore

If you arrive at Queenstown airport you can take our free shuttle service to our Queenstown branch. The shuttle runs on demand from 8.30am – 3.30pm.

Follow the signs to the transfer area, next to Jetstar and Air New Zealand's check-in areas. 

**Note:** Our friends at JUCY share their green and purple vans with us for a speedier shuttle service. So, if you see the JUCY van, hop on board for your free airport transfer service.

Airport Shuttle

Our Queenstown based Star RV team are experts when it comes to motorhomes and South Island road trips. 

They’ll be on hand to show you around your vehicle and answer any questions before you get on the road. 

If you’re coming from Queenstown Airport, you can use our shuttle service to pick you up from the airport terminal. 

If you're coming from the city, you'll need to make your own way to our branch. 

**Please note** motorhomes cannot be picked up outside our office hours – 8.30am – 4.00pm

Picking up your vehicle

Return your motorhome during business hours (8.30am – 4pm), ensuring you give yourself at least 30 minutes before closing to drop off your vehicle.

Remember to:

- Remove all your belongings.
- Ensure the tank is full of petrol and;
- Waste cassettes are clean and empty.

**Please note:** after-hour motorhome drop-offs are not available at our Queenstown  branch.

Queenstown, hailed as New Zealand's southern adventure playground, is a vibrant hub in New Zealand's South Island, nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu. ### Queenstown - The Capital of Adventure, Golf and Wine 

Once you have picked up your motorhome rental just outside Queenstown Airport, you're ready to set off on your New Zealand road trip adventure. 

Start your journey by jet boating across Lake Wakatipu, or a leisurely cruise tour on this alpine lake is more your thing. Explore the Queenstown CBD for a little bit of shopping and a bite to eat, including a treat or two from Patagonia Chocolates and The Remarkable Sweet Shop. 

Head over to Queenstown Gardens for a lakeside stroll or enjoy a scenic ride on the Skyline Gondola for stunning views of the incredible lake and Southern Alps. At the top, don't miss the exhilarating luge, where you can race down winding tracks with views all around. 

Whilst Queenstown is widely known for its adrenaline-fueled activities, such as bungee jumping, it is also considered the Golf Capital of New Zealand. With eight stunning courses amidst breathtaking landscapes, Queenstown offers a golfing experience like no other. With views of snowy peaks at Jack's Point Golf Course and luxury at Millbrook Resort's championship course, each spot offers a unique mix of challenge and natural beauty. 

For the wine enthusiasts, don't miss the chance to visit the famous Gibbston Valley. Just 25 minutes from the center of Queenstown, with its exceptional wine tasting experiences and vineyard landscapes, this is the perfect opportunity to sample some of the best Central Otago Pinot Noirs around. With 74 more wineries within a 20-minute radius of Queenstown, you really are spoilt for choice.  

### Arrowtown 

Arrowtown is a charming historic town, just 20 minutes from Queenstown CBD. It is well known for its rich gold-mining heritage and stunning autumn foliage, offering visitors a step back in time with its beautifully preserved heritage buildings and quaint streets lined with boutique shops and cozy cafes. Learn about the town's fascinating past at the local museum or spend the afternoon taking a stroll on one of the scenic walking trails. 

### Glenorchy 

Glenorchy, is located at the northern end of Lake Wakatipu, about a 45-minute drive from Queenstown's centre. It's a picturesque village surrounded by towering mountains, pristine lakes, and ancient beech forests, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. With a wide variety of activities, from hiking the famous Routeburn Track to horse trekking, kayaking, and scenic helicopter flights, there is no shortage of adventure here. The village itself has a peaceful charm, with rustic cafes, local art galleries, and a laid-back atmosphere for those looking to take it more slowly. 

### Lake Wanaka 

Just over an hour north of Queenstown is Lake Wanaka, which is a central hub for outdoor adventures year-round.
