Gold Coast branch details

Gold Coast is just one hour south of Brisbane and boasts world-class beaches, amusement parks, restaurants and nightlife. Five star hotels line the golden sands of the coast attracting visitors from all over the globe. 

Gold Coast Airport is serviced by multiple international airlines bringing over 6 million visitors per year to the sunny Gold Coast and numerous famous derstinations within easy reach such as Noosa, Byron Bay and the Sunshine Coast. 

Once you've picked up your Star RV from our Gold Coast branch, conveniently located a 5 min drive from the airport terminal, some of Australia's most captivating destinations await.

The drive to our Cairns branch can be easily done over a few days and will take you through the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef, quaint sea-side towns and lush rainforest. Or stay close to our Gold Coast and Brisbane branches and explore the hinterland.






Hire a motorhome in Gold Coast for the best way to explore Queensland

If you’re arriving at Gold Coast airport, you can use our free shuttle to transfer you to our Gold Coast branch.

Just call us on [1800 875 018](tel:1800875018) , and select Gold Coast to request your shuttle ride. 

Our shuttle runs on demand during our business hours, and the last shuttle leaves the airport 30 minutes before closing time.

#### Directions

**International Airport**

Proceed to the left end of the arrivals hall, exit the terminal, go down the ramp and follow the signs to the Bus and Coach area. Wait here for the shuttle to collect you.

**Domestic Airport**

Exit the terminal, cross the skywalk, and go down the travellator to B1/B2 on the ground floor. Please wait here for your shuttle.

**Note:** Our friends at JUCY share their green and purple vans with us for a speedier shuttle service. So, if you see the JUCY van, hop on board for your free airport transfer service.

Airport shuttle

If you flew into Gold Coast, don’t forget you can get a free shuttle bus to our branch where you pick up your motorhome.

When you get to our branch we’ll spend time with you to get the paperwork completed, show you through the vehicle and provide you will all you need to get on the road as quickly as possible.

**Note:** pick up is during office hours only:

- You can collect your motorhome between the branch opening hours
and 30 minutes before the branch closing time.

Picking up your vehicle

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end but hopefully we’ll see you again soon!

Return your motorhome during business hours, ensuring you give yourself at least 45 minutes before closing to drop off your vehicle.

Before we say goodbye make sure that:

- The fuel tank is full. The closest petrol station is Shell Service Station, corner Gold Coast Hwy & Toolona St & Maud St, Tugun QLD 4224.
- Toilet is empty
- Grey water tank is empty
- Vehicle is clean and tidy
- Dishes are clean

If you’re making your way to the airport our last shuttle leaves 30 minutes before our office closes. 

#### After hours drop-off 

If you need to drop-off after hours, this will need prior approval from Star RV reservations and branch teams. After hours drop-off will incur a $40 additional fee. 

You will need to fill up with the correct fuel to the same level as when you picked up the vehicle and leave a fuel receipt at the branch.

Remove all your items from the vehicle and leave the vehicle tidy. Return the key to the key drop box located outside the branch.

**Note:** You will be fully responsible for any damage to the vehicles or parking fees incurred if dropping off after hours. The damage will not get covered under any excess reduction covers.

## Where to go in Gold Coast & Queensland 

The Gold Coast is an hour south of Brisbane and it captures the quintessential spirit of an Australian holiday. Named for the golden sunshine and gold sand beaches, it provides the perfect base for a thrilling or relaxing vacation. As well as fun in and around the water, Gold Coast is famous for amusement and adventure parks like Movie World, Dream World and Sea World. As the sun sets The Gold Coast’s vibrant nightlife emerges with world famous restaurants, bars and nightclubs lining the beachfront. 

### Gold Coast and surrounding areas 

Once you’ve picked up your motorhome in Gold Coast, the surrounding area is waiting to be explored. If you drive an hour south you’ll find the most eastern point of Australia, Byron Bay. Famous amongst both bohemian travellers and the jet-set, it offers a relaxing small-town environment with world-class amenities. If you head north of Gold Coast you’ll find the capital of Queensland, Brisbane. With a population  of 2.3 million, Brisbane offers world class dining, shopping & entertainment . It’s the perfect place to stock-up on supplies for an adventure into Queensland’s hinterland. 

### Tamborine Mountain
An hours drive from Gold Coast, nestled in lush rainforest you’ll find Tamborine Mountain. Famous for its walking tracks and hiking, you’ll find scenic lookouts and  waterfalls surround the picturesque town. The area also hosts gastronomic delights with paddock to plate dining, vineyards, distilleries and coffee plantations, all offering tours and opportunities to sample locally made specialties.

### Lamington National Park

Lamington National Park is just one hours drive from the Goad Coast.  It’s a UNESCO World Heritage protected area due to it’s unique flora, fauna and outstanding natural beauty. You’ll find stunning walking tracks through old-growth forest that date back 225 million years. Popular tracks include Coomera Circuit, a moderate 16 km track taking approximately 6 hours to complete and the   Daves Creek circuit a 12 km circuit that takes about 4 hours to complete. 

### Burleigh Heads

Burleigh Heads used to be a quiet seaside town, popular with surfers and people looking for a slower, more relaxed lifestyle. Now it’s a vibrant community just south of Gold Coast, still popular with surfers, Burleigh Heads hosts the globally rated Gold Coast Open surfing contest every year. In the spring you can see the migrating hump-back whales from numerous points around the heads.

### Noosa

2.5 hours north of Gold Coast you’ll find the sleepy seaside town of Noosa heads, famous for its white sand beaches and sparkling crystal clear water. If you’re in town on a Sunday you can’t miss the Farmers Markets. Browse the countless stalls while you sip on freshly squeezed juice or coffee. With locally sourced, sustainable and organic produce on offer, you’ll be directly supporting local communities.

Free camping is available in several places in Queensland, there are many designated roadside rest areas and certain car parks that allow overnight stays.
